Biden Selects Micron Technology for $6.1B Funding

The Biden administration has selected Micron Technology as the latest CHIPS Act recipient.

The memory chip maker will get $6.1 billion in funding as part of the broad effort to bolster the United States semiconductor industry.

According to reports, the funds will support the construction of a $100 billion chip fabrication plant in Clay, New York. It is one of the largest federal investments in Central New York’s history.

The other Chips Act recipients so far are Intel, Samsung, TSMC, and GlobalFoundries.
