SEER
SEER, short for Simulative Emotional Expression Robot, is an interactive humanoid robot created by Japanese media artist Takayuki Todo in 2018. The robot consists of a 3D-printed head equipped with cameras, servomotors, and facial mechanisms that allow it to track a viewer’s gaze and mimic their expressions in real time. Designed as an artistic exploration of empathy and the “uncanny valley,” SEER studies how humans emotionally respond to machines that reflect their own emotions.
