Rhex

RHex is a six-legged robot developed by Boston Dynamics in collaboration with researchers from several universities, including the University of Pennsylvania and McGill University. Designed for rough-terrain mobility, it uses rotating compliant legs rather than wheels, allowing it to traverse sand, rocks, mud, and grass with remarkable agility. Originally developed for DARPA, RHex is used in research and field applications involving exploration, surveillance, and search and rescue.
