Unitree founder Wang Xingxing just became China’s latest tech billionaire as investors piled into his company’s blockbuster IPO on Shanghai’s STAR Market.

Laikago is a quadruped robot developed by Unitree Robotics, founded by Wang Xingxing in China. Introduced in 2017, it was one of the company’s first commercially available four-legged robots designed for research and development. Named after Laika, the first dog in space, Laikago stands about 60 cm (2 feet) tall and uses 12 actuated joints for stable, dynamic motion. It can walk, trot, and recover from pushes, demonstrating balance and agility similar to Boston Dynamics’ early quadrupeds.
