China calls the Konka-1 the “world’s lightest complete humanoid robot.”
Developed by the Chengdu Humanoid Robot Innovation Center, this robot weighs just 25 kilograms (approximately 55 pounds), significantly lighter than the industry standard of 60 to 250 kilograms.
Per ICV Ta&k, the Konka-1 is engineered for applications in research laboratories, elderly care, and emergency management. Its compact design enables it to carry loads up to 5.5 kilograms (12 pounds), achieving a load-to-weight ratio of 0.22, which is more than five times the industry average.
Equipped with advanced artificial intelligence, the Konka-1 can quickly understand task intentions, autonomously observe its environment, infer task processes, generate task flows, and accurately complete tasks through autonomous limb control. This capability allows it to perform complex tasks independently, akin to human reasoning and execution.
The robot boasts an impressive battery life of up to 8 hours, far exceeding the industry average of around one hour, enabling extended operation without frequent recharging.
Approximately 60% of the Konka-1’s components are sourced from companies within Chengdu, highlighting the region’s robust industrial capabilities and support for innovation.
