California startup Dexmate is taking preorders for its general-purpose mobile robot, Vega, which is intended for household and industrial applications.
Dexmate says its team developed the wheeled humanoid robot in under six months. The robot is priced at $89,999. It can be purchased via its website but a $999 nonrefundable deposit is required. The current lead time is about three months from the order confirmation date.

Vega’s foldable design extends up to 2.2 meters (7’2″) so it can reach just about anything in household settings. Each arm can handle a payload of 7 kg (15 lbs).
According to Dexmate, the robot’s high-capacity battery offers more than 10 hours of operation per charge. The battery runs for up to 30 hours without a payload.
Vega has a reported 36 degrees of freedom (DoF), including 3 DoF in its head and 13 in its arms.
Dexmate is gearing the robot toward researchers and developers. The company says the robot’s AI is ready to use via a PythonAPI pip install. It’s powered by Nvidia AGX Orin edge computing.
